What is fingerprint jewellery?
Fingerprint jewellery uses the pattern of an actual fingerprint as part of its design. The loops, lines and whorls become a personal detail in a ring, pendant, charm or other keepsake.
Choose how you would like to wear it: around a ring, on a pendant or as part of a bracelet.
See the detail in four designs

From fingerprint to finished piece
Taking the first step is often easier with a little help. Whether you’re choosing a piece or wondering about a print you already have, we’re here to talk it through with you.
Our step-by-step print-taking guide shows you how to take a fingerprint on paper and send us a clear scan. You’ll find the choices for taking or supplying a print alongside each piece. If you’re not sure which to choose, let’s work it out together.
Already have a print you treasure? We’d be happy to help you explore what we can make with it. Keep your original safe while we explain the best way to share it. A photograph of a finger is different from a print taken on paper, so let us know what you have.

Where our story began
Morgan & French began as FingerPrint Jewellery in 2006. The connection between a person and their fingerprint is still at the heart of this collection.
A print can become the detail that draws you to a piece: the curved surface of a ring, the shape of a pendant, or a bead added to a bracelet. Choose the design you enjoy, with a connection that is yours.
For someone who matters

Your fingerprint jewellery questions
What is fingerprint jewellery?
It’s jewellery made personal with someone’s real fingerprint. The loops and lines of that print become part of a ring, pendant, bead or other keepsake, a small way to keep someone important close.
How do I supply a fingerprint?
We’ll help you get started. Our print-taking guide shows how to take a print on paper, and you’ll find the choices for sending it to us alongside the piece you choose. Kit and appointment arrangements vary by design and where you live. Classic FingerPrint pieces have their own method, so have a chat with us if you’d like a hand finding the right instructions.
Can I use a fingerprint I already have?
You may already have just what we need. Tell us about your print and the piece you like, and we’ll help you find out whether they’ll work together. There’s no need to judge a faint or unclear print on your own. Our team is happy to help; keep any irreplaceable original safe while we explain the next step.
Can you use my child’s fingerprint?
A child’s print can be a lovely keepsake. The little lines need to be clear enough for the piece you choose, and we’re happy to help you work out what’s possible. If a fingerprint doesn’t yet show enough detail, our hand and footprint jewellery offers another way to capture this moment.
Can you use a fingerprint from someone who has passed away?
If you have a fingerprint from someone you’re remembering, we’d be glad to talk through the possibilities with you. We’ll start with the print you have and the piece you’re drawn to, then explain what may be possible. Get in touch with our team, and keep your original safe until we’ve discussed how to share it.
Can several pieces use the same fingerprint?
Choosing something for more than one person? Tell us which pieces you like and we’ll help you plan how the same print could work across them. If you’ve ordered before, we can also check whether your earlier print is still available before you plan another piece.
What is the difference between silver, solid gold and gold vermeil?
Sterling silver is 925 silver. Our Solid Gold Fingerprint Ring comes in 9ct or 18ct gold, while gold vermeil gives sterling silver a coating of gold. Vermeil needs gentler care because that surface can wear over time. Our vermeil care guide explains how to look after it, and we’re happy to talk through the finishes with you.
How many fingerprints can I include?
Some pieces celebrate one person’s print; others bring two together. Both our Silver Fingerprint Ring and Solid Gold Fingerprint Ring offer one- or two-person options. If you have a family keepsake in mind, tell us your idea and we’ll help you find a design with room for the prints you’d like.
How long will my piece take to make?
Making begins once we have your fingerprint and all the details we need, including your size and any personalisation. You’ll find the latest estimate alongside each piece and on our turnaround page. Planning a gift for a particular date? Let us know before you order and we’ll talk through what’s possible.
Can I wear fingerprint jewellery every day?
We want you to enjoy wearing your piece often. A little care will help you look after it: take it off before showering or swimming, keep leather dry and avoid abrasive polishing on gold vermeil. Our jewellery care guide covers the different materials, and we’re always happy to help with a care question.
