Once that fresh baby smell has faded and the scent of freshly laundered baby grows has drifted away, you'll always be able to remember how small they once were. Lovingly handcrafted in our Biggleswade studio, this item of jewellery will quickly find its way into your heart forever. Your charm will be handcrafted by one of our skilled silversmiths. Through hours of careful and precise work, they will create an exact miniature replica of your little one's footprint or handprint from solid sterling silver.
This charm is a loving memento of the birth of a new child, a special birthday or to keep a child no longer in your arms close to your heart. It comes with either a snake, ball or belcher chain - making it the perfect accessory for everyday wear.
We can also inscribe a single initial on to the back of the charm.
Ordering Process
For our Hand & Footprint Jewellery, we will send you an impression pack containing a special wipe and sensitised paper. This method of capturing hand and footprints was developed for use in maternity hospitals in America and is suitable and safe for babies of all ages.
The hand and footprints appear like magic on the paper, which you then send back to us in a prepaid, letterbox-sized return package! Of course, if you already have a print that you'd like to use, just take a clear copy and email or post it to us.
With some magic of our own, we miniaturise the hand or footprints to fit your chosen item of jewellery and recreate them as though they were imprinted directly into the silver!
Professional Print-Taking
For those who prefer a professional touch, we also offer an appointment service for taking hand and footprints. This service ensures high-quality prints with minimal hassle. Appointments are available at two locations, with different availability times. After placing your order, you will receive an invite to book an appointment for professional hand and footprint-taking. This option is ideal for ensuring precision and clarity, especially for creating cherished keepsakes.
Sizing
The Little Hand and Footprint Charms are approximately 15mm by 20mm but this will depend on your child's actual print, i.e. if their fingers are spread wide apart etc.

When time matters, your piece is scheduled for immediate bench work with your maker, crafted ahead of their usual making order. This typically brings completion forward by around three to five days, giving you a noticeably earlier finish for special gifts, meaningful moments and occasions where you simply need your jewellery sooner.

Your jewellery is handcrafted with the same care and attention, created in the natural rhythm of your maker’s schedule once everything required is in place. The same skill, the same devotion - simply made in turn.

At Morgan & French, we want your jewellery to look beautiful for years to come. Silver and other metals can tarnish naturally over time, but certain substances in our daily lives can speed up the process, such as soap, hairspray, perfume, and even natural oils on our hands.
To combat this, we are proud to offer an anti-tarnish service that you can easily add to your order. Our Rhodium Anti-Tarnish Plating Service ensures your cherished pieces retain their lustre and shine for as long as possible.
To keep your jewellery looking its best, we recommend using a good quality jeweller's cloth regularly as part of your cleaning routine. It's also important to remove your jewellery before showering or swimming, as metals can react with shampoo, chemicals, and chlorine.
Please handle your jewellery with care, as links and clasps can be opened or broken if not treated properly. If you receive a faulty or damaged item, please contact us within 7 days. We fully guarantee our jewellery for 6 months against faulty workmanship or materials, though this does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or wear and tear.
